Butterfly theme cake & cupcakes

Butterfly theme cake and cupcakes for a sweet 6 year old (I made the same butterfly cupcakes last year for her).

The cake is ombre buttercream of pink, purple and white. I topped the cake as well as the cupcakes with handmade butterflies. Each butterfly is decorated differently, with embossing, some with silver pearls.

Pink stripes & quilted cake

This cake was requested to be an exact copy of a cake that the customer saw online. Lucky for me, the talented cake artist (Jessica Harris http://jessicaharriscakedesign.com/) that made this cake originally also has a tutorial on how she does it! It was an amazing help, she has wonderful techniques and tutorials. Check her out!

This cake is covered in pink fondant. The bottom tier has alternating pink/white stripes, bordered by a black fondant rope that swirls up. The top tier is quilted fondant with black dragees and a monogram M, topped with a black bow.

here is the link to her tutorial for this cake design:

Cranberry/pink wedding cake

Beautiful wedding cake I made last weekend. Horizontal buttercream, beaded border, with cranberry carnations & pink roses. It turned out gorgeous if I do say so myself!

Black/white/pink birthday cake

I made this amazing cake for a friends 40th birthday. Her theme was black and white with accents of hot pink. This is what we came up with...... Im loving it!!! I learned a new technique for this cake (stenciling), which Im dying to try again soon!

The top and bottom tiers were created using black royal icing and stencils. I love the patterns I was able to create. Im super happy with the result, especially for my first attempt. The middle tier is quilted, which I think is just the cutest. Topped with a black &
pink '40' frame, a few hot pink fondant flowers (created by my lovely sister Dezi) black, white & hot pink curly q's and hot pink beaded border.

Lego Cupcakes

The Lego theme is a popular one! Here is a few cupcakes I made with handmade fondant Lego blocks. Chocolate cupcakes with buttercream icing.

My sweet customer wrote me the next day to tell me what a hit these were with the (adult) birthday boy!

Peanut butter cupcakes / lemon cupcakes

I made cupcakes for my husbands 28th birthday. We chose peanut butter and lemon flavors.

Peanutbutter Bomb cupcakes: Chocolate cake with creamy peanut butter frosting, sprinkled with chopped peanuts and chocolate bits

Lemon Dream cupcakes: Lemon cake with tangy lemon cream cheese frosting, sprinkled with yellow cake sugar

Rainbow cake

LOVE THIS!!!  I made a rainbow themed cake for 3 sisters sharing a birthday party. Top tier cake was iced in buttercream, then coated in nonpareils (small dots sprinkles). Fondant bows, rainbow and clouds all handmade... cant forget the edible glitter! I just love this circle and flower rainbow pattern.

Star Wars cake

Lego Star Wars cake. Lego blocks, lightsabers made from fondant. 6 Star Wars action figures are plastic Legos.

Jet cake

I made a 9th birthday cake for a boy who loves jets. This is what I came up with. Covered in fondant, green piped buttercream grass (the jet is a black plastic toy)

Lego cake

I was asked to make a Lego cake and I really wanted to try the technique with Lego "blocks" built underneath the cake. Loving the way this turned out! All blocks and name logo are made from fondant.

Lightening McQueen 3D cake

I made a 3D Lightening McQueen cake for Kellen's birthday. Sculpted car, all fondant. Fondant cacti, brown cake sugar sand.

Shabby chic cake

For my sweet niece Adelyn, I made a shabby chic themed cake and smash cake. LOVE IT! The flower on top, pearls, scrolls and buttons are all handmade with fondant. The floral design in the center is an image on edible sugar paper.

3D plane groomsman's cake

I made this 3D airplane for our good friend's mom's wedding. The bride wanted a surprise groomsman's cake for her groom. He proposed to her with a plane flying a "Will you marry me?" banner behind it. So it only seemed to fit that the groomsman's cake was the same only saying "Just Married".

The body of the plane was cake while the wings were made from foam core board covered in fondant, supported inside the cake with skewers. Clouds were also fondant, while the "Just Married" banner is just printed paper (I tried gumpaste, but failed and did not have a backup).

(Next time I'll definitely make sure the caterer gets the memo to remove the big, ugly balls of fondant under the wings and propeller that were meant for transportation supports only. Gah!!! How ugly....)

Cowboy theme gender reveal cake

I received an order for a gender reveal cake. The mom wanted a cowboy theme, specifically pink and blue fondant cowboy boots. I also added pink and blue cow spots and a rope.  I think it turned out super cute.

Oh, and by the way.... it was filled with BLUE cream cheese filling! Congratulations on your little guy!

Nurse Graduation cake

I made a cake for our good friend's wife for graduating nursing school this year. I loved doing this cake. All the little details are so fun to create. Nursing cap, 3D pill bottle/lid with pills spilling out, band-aids, heart beat monitor and a stethoscope complete the details. Super happy with this.

Traffic Signal cake

A good friend of my sister in law was hosting a book release party for a book titled 'Together' and asked me to create a cake that looks like a large traffic light signal... as well as matching cupcakes. I was thrilled with the results (especially since a rectangle is such a difficult shape to achieve).

Spider Man cake

This Spider Man cake was for Emery's twin brother Griffin. All fondant, piped black icing lines, piped name.

TinkerBell cake

I made this TinkerBell cake for dear family friends little girl Emery. Everything is fondant, I even hand cut her face/hair/wings/dress from fondant, and used edible fine tip markers.

Mint and burlap wedding shower cake

I made this cake for a wedding shower. I just LOVE the burlap flower (not fondant, from Hobby Lobby) and fondant pearls.

Bumble bee cupcake toppers

A customer asked me to maker her only the toppers for cupcakes. 6 bumble bees :)
All fondant (photo quality isnt the best. They were super cute, they have smiles)

Hippie Van cake

My cousins mother-in-law was having her 60th birthday with a 60s theme. She asked for a cake to resemble the 60s... this is what I came up with. Everything is fondant, piped green buttercream grass. The peace signs, letters and a few flowers were cute from fondant that I swirled together to get the tie-dye look
